19th Century Turkmen Tekke Rug

     This elegant handwoven Turkmen Tekke Rug, dating back to the late 19th century, is a rare antique piece with a history of around 130 to 140 years. Entirely made from hand spunwool, both in the foundation and the pile, it features the traditional Gul motifs of the Tekke tribe arrange in the beautiful balanced ,repeating pattern.

    The deep red background characteristic of the Turkmen weaving , is enhanced with natural dyes in tones of dark navy, ivory and  burnt orange creating a rich and timeless palette that reflect the bold aesthetics of Central  Asian nomadic culture.

     Despite its age, the rug is in good condition, with strong pile and no major repairs. its fine weave and authentic character make it a perfect choice for collectors or interior designers seeking unique heritage pieces with story and soul.
