West Anatolia Antique Milas Hand Woven Carpet
Dimensions 54 in X 81 in
It was woven 50-60 years ago in Milas in the West Anatolia Region using cotton and wool yarns. The green color used in the carpet, which is dominated by ivory, yellow, light red and green colors, is made of mud. Since it is acidic, it collapses by corrosion over time and the patterns around it become more prominent like reliefs. This adds value to your carpet as it ages. Milas Carpets are a rich part of Turkish carpet art. They are aesthetic works of art recognized all over the world and used in home decorations. Milas carpets were taken under protection by taking the Geographical location mark in 1997.
