Antique Konya Obruk Hand Woven Rug
144 cm x 186 cm / 4'9'' x 6'1''
This kilim was woven approximately 100–110 years ago in Obruk Village, located in the Konya province of the Central Anatolia Region. It is crafted using hand-spun wool yarn on a wool foundation, carefully woven with traditional techniques. The kilim features shades of green, red, and navy blue, all dyed exclusively with natural plant-based dyes.
Its patterns include symbolic motifs such as the ram’s horn, eye, and fertility symbols. Additionally, in the centre of the lower border, the weaver has left their personal mark—a rare detail that adds significant value to your kilim.
Due to variations in lighting during photography, there may be slight differences in colour tones between the images and the actual product. Some kilims have been preserved in storage for decades without use, while others have seen some wear. Over the years, certain areas may have undergone minor repairs, whereas others have been left untouched to maintain their authenticity. We have done our best to reflect these details in the photos. We kindly ask you to consider these small details when making your purchase.
