Balikesir Hand Woven Rug
Size 3'5 ft x 5'6 ft
It was woven 30-40 years ago by Nomads in Balikesir province in West Anatolia. Wool on wool yarns were used in weaving. Soil colour is used in the middle of the rug and green, cream and light blue colours are used in the borders. The wool is dyed using plants such as turmeric, spurge, olive leaves, pomegranate peel, walnut shell, juniper leaves, linden, onion peel.
