Central Anatolia Kayseri Bunyan Hand Woven Carpet

  It is a carpet made in Kayseri Bunyan in the Central Anatolia Region 30-40 years ago using cotton and wool yarns and coloured with herbal and root dyes. The middle is decorated with medallions and floral motifs. Pastel colours attract attention. Tulip symbols draw attention all over the carpet. The tulip symbol is very common in Turkish literature and textiles after the Seljuk period. The value of Kayseri carpets increases as they are used. The motifs used are similar to the motifs used in tiles, marble, carving and gilding.
