"After the 19th century, a new type of carpet began to be produced in various workshops in the city center of Sivas Province in the Central Anatolia Region. These carpets were called Workshop type carpets and were woven in the quality of Hereke carpets. After 1949, they started to be woven only in Sivas Prison. This carpet was woven in Sivas Prison with the registration number 5968 in 60x60 high quality in the early 1980s. In other words, there are 3600 loops in 1 dm² of the carpet. The carpet was created with 168120 loops. During the production of this carpet, 3 female prisoners worked on one loom with fair wages. The carpet was woven with an average of 10,000 loops per day and the average length was 61 cm. On the ground of the carpet, rose dry, navy blue and white colors were used. In the patterns, 18 different colors and shades of tile, blood red, green, pink, copper, camel hair and orange were used. The carpet floor is divided into squares and the motifs placed inside are connected to each other with vines. The pomegranate fruit, which is used in Anatolia for abundance and fertility, is decorated with hatayi, rumi and Turkish flowers. It is known that the pomegranate motif used in this carpet was used in the clothes of Renaissance Priests and all kinds of textiles in Europe after the 16th century.
