East Anatolia Kars Carpet

               It is a carpet woven in Kars region 30-40 years ago from 100% sheep wool with double knot technique.no dye was used on the ground of the rug, it is the natural color of the wool.it is double centered and colored with blue root dyes used in the center and tile color root dyes used in the borders. The patterns and symbols on it carry the influences of the neighboring Caucasus region.There are geometrically symbolized hands on hip  symbols on the borders.Hands on hip symbol symbolizes femininity, fertility, abundance, joy and happiness.
