Handwoven Antique Konya Obruk Kilim
150 cm x 220 cm /4'11'' x 7'3''
This unique kilim was woven approximately 110–120 years ago in the village of Obruk, located in the Konya region of Central Anatolia—an area known for its deep-rooted weaving traditions. Made entirely from hand-spun wool and dyed with natural plant-based pigments, this piece is a timeless example of Anatolian kilim artistry.
The central mihrab (prayer niche) design is not only aesthetically striking but also symbolically significant, representing a sacred and guiding space. The softened natural tones of the background reflect the graceful aging of time, while the geometric borders and rhythmic color transitions showcase the weaver's refined technique and innate sense of symmetry.
With its minimalist yet bold motif composition, this rare piece is an ideal choice for collectors, art enthusiasts, and those seeking characterful interiors. It can be displayed as a wall hanging or incorporated as a lasting work of art in special living spaces.
Please note: Colours may appear slightly different on screen depending on lighting conditions. Some antique kilims in our collection have been preserved unused, while others have been gently used and maintained. Minor signs of wear or original restorations are part of the authentic narrative of each handwoven piece.
