     The Bodrum Boşu kilim is a traditional Turkish kilim unique to the Bodrum district of Muğla. It was woven approximately 60-70 years ago using wool and cotton threads. The word "Boş" refers to its plain, motif-free surface. However, these kilims are not entirely patternless; they often feature fine lines, small geometric designs, or simple stripes.

      As part of both the nomadic and settled Yörük culture, the Bodrum Boşu stands out for its durability and simplicity. According to local knowledge, this kilim is also known as "parmaklı". Additionally, kilims of this size were not traditionally used as floor coverings. In the past, homemade bread was wrapped and stored in these kilims. In the region, they were also referred to as "iteğ" or "ekmek mendili". When they wore out, new ones were woven to replace them.

       Today, Bodrum Boşu kilims are a perfect choice for those who appreciate minimalist designs, as they complement both traditional and modern interior decor.
