This Herki runner, reflecting the Kurdish weaving tradition of the Southeastern Anatolia region, is approximately 60-70 years old. It has been handwoven using naturally twisted wool treads and entirely finished with natural plant root dyes. The most striking feature of the rug is the background which has gradually developed pastel tones a deep indigo blue intertwined with soft, pale pink hues.
Produced entirely with natural wool yarns, this rug remarkably durable despite is delicate appearance and has reached the present day in essentially impeccable condition.
