Handwoven Kazakh Rug

This Kazakh rug, entirely woven from wool, was crafted 50-60 years ago using wool yarn spun with a traditional spindle. Coloured with 100% natural and plant-based dyes, it features traditional Kazakh motifs. The design is enriched with eight-pointed star patterns on the borders and throughout the red background. To prevent wear and tear, the fringe area has been woven with a plain weave technique.
