     This strikingly large, three-panel handwoven kilim was crafted approximately 80–90 years ago by Kurdish communities living in the highland villages of Eastern Anatolia, Turkey. Made entirely of natural wool yarns, it was woven on primitive looms without the use of any chemical dyes. The warmth and vibrancy of its colours are the result of the wool’s natural ageing process over time.

     One of the most distinctive features of this piece is its composition: three separate panels have been traditionally joined to create a unified design. Signs of wear, loosened knots, and small hand-repairs made over the years highlight its authenticity and reinforce its value as not just a decorative textile, but a cultural artefact bearing traces of the past.

     Visible signs of age and use are present throughout the rug. Some areas have been carefully restored, while others have been left untouched to preserve its originality.
