Iran Soumak Rug

This rug, which was woven by Iranian Tribes in the Caucasus Region, is new and never used.It is woven with wool yarns on wool.The wool was spun into yarn with kirman and coloured with root dyes found in the region.Unlike the kilim and cicim technique, it is a flat woven with soumak technique. There are 8-leaf clovers and hook symbols on the borders of the rug.The middle of the rug is divided into 32 pieces and there are symbols such as ram's horn, scorpion, wolf's mouth with various star symbols. please visit our blog page for more information about symbols and their meanings.
