Konya Karapinar Starry Cicim Rug

This rug was woven 60-70 years ago in the Karapinar
district of Konya province in the Central Anatolia Region, using the cicim
technique on woolen yarns. No paint was used on the floor of the rug. Black,
green, brown, red and blue colors are found in the embroidery woven with Cicim
technique. It is completely colored with root dyes. Symbols such as star, hands on hip, triangle, burdock, monster feet, ram's horn are found
in this rug. The meanings of these symbols can be summarized in 3 main
subjects; to ensure continuity thanks to the fertility of the woman, to
increase fertility thanks to the abundance of the harvest, to protect from the
evil eye, diseases and natural disasters. We believe that this rug will bring

actual product due to differences in light during the photographing of the
products. Some products may have been stored in chests without being used for
many years and some products may have been used. Some parts of the products may
have undergone minor repairs over the years, while some parts have not been
