West Anatolia Canakkale Ayvacik Carpet

It was woven 50-60 years ago in Ayvacik, Çanakkale, in the West Anatolia Region. It is colored with root dyes using wool yarns. Red, yellow, blue and white colors are dominant. Carpet weaving is the oldest tradition in the region since Troy. The influence of the Turkmen tribes who settled in the region during the Seljuk period is also visible in the carpets. In Ayvacık district, carpets are sold with a 100-year non-fading guarantee. Due to differences in light during the photography of the products, there may be differences in color tones between the photo and the actual product. Some products may have been stored in chests for many years without being used, while others may have been used. Some parts of the products may have undergone minor repairs over the years; on the other hand, some parts have not been touched in order not to disturb the originality.
