West Anatolia Denizli Cal Rug
Dimensions 56 in X 103 in
The tradition of weaving in West Anatolia, especially in Denizli and its surroundings, dates back to ancient times. Our kilim has emerged as a part of this rich tradition. It is produced using 100% Kirman wool yarn. The yarns are colored with natural dyes obtained from walnut shell, onion peel, acorn, sumac and many other plants and roots. These natural dyes ensure the vibrancy and naturalness of the colors of our rug.
The yarns are dyed at home using primitive methods and woven on primitive looms. This process makes our rug special and gives it a special value. Traditional methods and the use of natural materials emphasize the uniqueness and cultural significance of the rug. For this reason, our kilim should be seen not only as a household item, but also as part of a heritage of thousands of years.
